A alienação parental é um tópico legal relativamente novo. A Lei nº 12.318 foi promulgada apenas em 26 de agosto de 2010. Com as inovações no campo do direito da família, novos desafios surgiram nas disputas que envolvem os direitos da criança e do adolescente. Para um melhor entendimento, serão os principais tipos de famílias atuais no Brasil. A natureza humana é criticar o que você não fez, pode-se dizer que você despreza como conquistas dos outros.
